FAQ

What are Buck tokens?Buck is a utility token used within the Buck ecosystem to access community forums, use protocol features, and gain eligibility for discretionary yield. Buck uses a portion of proceeds and treasury inflows, less taxes and fees, to acquire Strategy Inc.'s STRC and distribute treasury revenue as yield to token holders. Price will fluctuate based upon STRC volatility and market conditions.
What is the official smart contract address?
How do I buy BUCK?BUCK can be minted through the Buck app by depositing USDC. BUCK can also be purchased on secondary markets where available, including some centralized and decentralized exchanges like Curve.
What generates the yield?Funds received from BUCK mints are used to acquire STRC (Strategy Inc.'s preferred equity shares) and other assets for the Buck treasury. Treasury revenue from STRC dividends, net of fees, costs, and operating expenses, is used to purchase additional STRC, increasing the treasury relative to outstanding BUCK. The market price and dividends distributed of STRC may cause the protocol exchange rate to increase over time. Past performance is not indicative of future results.
How does the BUCK exchange rate work? The BUCK protocol exchange rate starts at 1:1 with BUCK and is designed to increase over time as yield accrues. The exchange rate is derived from the aggregate value of Buck treasury holdings of STRC relative to the total outstanding supply of BUCK. The exchange rate may also decrease if the value of treasury holdings declines.
Is staking required to potentially earn yield? No. There is no staking required. You continue to own your tokens and yield accrues automatically while held.
Can I access my tokens at any time?Yes. There are no lock-ups, bonding, or withdrawal restrictions. Your tokens remain liquid and accessible 24/7.
How do I collect Buck yield? You do not need to actively collect annual yield. Yield is automatic and reflected monthly. You no longer need to "Claim" or launch the app to receive yield. The yield is reflected in the holder's wallet every month as an appreciation in the value of Buck.
Do I have to hold Buck for a certain period of time to earn yield? No. You're eligible for yield regardless of when you buy or sell BUCK. There is no longer any eligibility window. Yield for the amount of time you held BUCK in a month is distributed monthly, regardless of when you bought or sold.
What forms the value of the Buck tokens? The Buck Token (BUCK) price is market driven. The token issuer has purchased Strategy Inc. STRC preferred equity, with Strategy being 5x collateralized with Bitcoin.
Can I buy and sell tokens without AML verification? No. All buyers and sellers must undergo AML (Anti-Money Laundering) verification before transacting.
What are the risks of Buck?BUCK carries risks including but not limited to: smart contract risk, liquidity risk, counterparty risk, concentration risk in STRC and other treasury assets, and the risk that treasury holdings may decline in value (including to zero). The protocol exchange rate may decrease as well as increase. You may receive fewer BUCK upon withdrawal than you originally deposited. See Terms for additional risk disclosures.
Are there any withholding taxes on my yield? There is currently no yield withholding tax. Only the local tax obligations of token holders may apply. For more information, consult a qualified accountant for personalized advice.
